Where are US Allies to Support Bin Laden Death Claim
Posted by amuntazir on May 4, 2011
By Abdullah Muntazir
It is another question regarding world’s most hated and most loved person -Osama bin Laden’s death – that why not US allies like UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy were taken into confidence before announcing the death. Calling British PM or Pakistani president before announcing the death is one thing and providing the opportunity to counter terrorism officials of these allies to see dead body of Osama bin Laden before burial is another thing. US itself made its claims doubtful by hiding Osama’s body from the world and avoiding to release videos of operation and then Read the rest of this entry »

Osama to Remain Alive
Posted by amuntazir on May 2, 2011
By Abdullah Muntazir
They claim you are dead but for you it is the beginning of eternal life. You were the most hated person in one part of the world and most loved one in the other part of the world. You were hero for millions and at the same time million thought you were their villain. You lived a life, which was ideal for many, and they will keep following you. And there is no dearth of those who hate this life-style and wish to eradicate it entirely from this planet. You were the symbol of resistance against American tyranny and will be remembered forever in history. It will be the history who will tell us you were right or you enemies were on true path but there is no doubt that you lived for a cause and died for a cause. Great people always live and die like that. You chose a path and committed your entire life and family for that. You set a goal and sacrificed everything to achieve that. Your enemies will always hate you but your followers will feel proud they way you lived and died. In your ideology, being killed in the way of Allah is Shahadat (Martyrdom) and Quran declares that Martyrs are not dead. If your Shahadat is accepted by your Allah then no doubt you are not dead. Now it is between you and your Lord. Allah (Subhanahoo wa Ta’ala) is the ultimate judge for our deeds and he will decide your final fate. And he does not follow perceptions. He knows everything. He knows your Niyyat (Intention) and subsequent deeds.
Most of the time I differed with your policies, particularly the way Al-Qaeda operated in Muslim countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia but I never hated you. I do not hate anyone. I have no fear to admit that I respect you. This is what I have learnt; Respect everyone’s point of view. I can understand why the American youths are on roads to celebrate your death but they can’t understand why millions mourn your death too. Your reported death made millions happy and millions sad. Those who are sad they can’t express their views publicly for the fear of reprisal because freedom of speech is reserved only for those who are your opponents. Freedom of expression is nothing but a constant threat to be labeled as terrorist for those who sympathies with you. For me there is no terrorist on earth. Not you, Not America too. I still believe the theory of ‘One nation’s terrorist is hero for the other nation’. The last word is that ‘despite being killed you will remain alive in hearts one way or the other’.

Why Not a Civilian Chief for ISI?
Posted by amuntazir on December 30, 2009
By Abdullah Muntazir
Foundations for the establishment of two new intelligence agencies were laid down when Pakistan gained independence back in 1947. One of these was the Military Intelligence, or MI, and the other was the Intelligence Bureau, or IB. The 1947-48 war with India over Kashmir made it apparent, however, that the MI alone could not adequately fulfill the requirements of Intelligence gathering, coordination, and sharing between all the three branches of the armed forces. Maj. Gen. R. Cawthome, a British Army officer of Australian origin, was the Deputy Chief of Army Staff at that time. He suggested that a new, cohesive, yet autonomous, organization be established for the sharing and coordination of intelligence between the three branches of the armed forces, and consequently the Directorate of Inter-Services Intelligence, or the ISI as it is more popularly now known, came into existence in 1948. An Analysis of the Trial of Pakistanis Accused in Mumbai Attacks

Conflict Monitoring Center Islamabad
Overview
After two years the case against the Pakistanis, accused in Mumbai attacks is still entangled in pre-trial proceedings. The prosecution could record only one witness out of a long list of 160 witnesses. on the eve of first anniversary of the Mumbai attacks, the indictment of these accused was announced by the court but it has become disputed and according to the whole procedure will have to be repeated. The prosecution are blaming the defense as well as the half hearted cooperation of Indian Government for the delay whereas the defense are of the point of view that since the suit was filed on the external pressure and there is no solid proof against the accused persons so the suit should be set-aside . The Indian Government and the relatives of the victims of Mumbai attacks are demanding the early conviction of the alleged culprits while the counsel for the accused persons are claiming that it is against the human rights to keep anyone behind the bars without proving the charges framed against him. However, by keeping in mind the nature of the trial and legal complexities involved one would not be wrong in saying that both the parties will have to wait for a longtime for the fulfillment of their desires. THE TRUTH ABOUT US JUSTICE
Posted by amuntazir on February 8, 2010
By Yvonne Ridley
Many of us are still in a state of shock over the guilty verdict returned on Dr Aafia Siddiqui. The response from the people of Pakistan was predictable and overwhelming and I salute their spontaneous actions. From Peshawar to Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and beyond they marched in their thousands demanding the return of Aafia. Even some of the US media expressed discomfort over the verdict returned by the jurors … there was a general feeling that something was not right. Everyone had something to say, everyone that is except the usually verbose US Ambassador Anne Patterson who has spent the last two years briefing against Dr Aafia and her supporters. Worth of Indian Dossiers against Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
Posted by amuntazir on September 15, 2009
By Abdullah Muntazir
Pakistani interior minister Abdur Rehman Malik has invited his Indian counterpart for a public debate on the issue of Mumbai attacks. He claims that Pakistan has done more than India as far as investigations into the Mumbai attack are concerned. He also said that his country cannot take action against Ameer Jamat-ud-Dawah Prof. Hafiz Saeed on the basis of “hearsay” and needs more time to assess the genuineness of information provided by India on him. On the other hand Indian foreign minister SM Krishna has said that Pakistan has a vested interest in blocking the inquiry into the Mumbai attacks and is safeguarding Hafiz Saeed. Indian interior minister has visited United States to intervene in the issue and press Pakistan to act against Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.

Afpak Strategy: a threat to Pakistan’s security
Posted by amuntazir on June 3, 2009
By General Retd Mirza Aslam Beg
We were expecting that with the coming of Obama to power, Pakistan will find some relief on its North Western borders with Afghanistan and peace process with India would begin, but it didn’t happen. On the contrary, Obama reneged on the promise to help solve the Kashmir issue, and closed his eyes and lips to Israeli atrocities on Hammas, thus lowering his own image of ‘a leader of substance.’ Now he has spelled-out the Afpak Strategy and in pursuit of its objectives, he has confronted Pakistan, with the demand for “shifting the Centre of gravity of Afghan war, to Pakistan.” The implementation has just begun with the launching of the army against the militants in Dir and Swat. However, there are some other aspects that need to be examined.
One: The American and the allied forces are preparing to leave Afghanistan as acknowledged by Obama Read the rest of this entry »
